The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Iceland.

JCA in collaboration with TBL and Verkís have won a design competition for a new facilty for the School of Health Sciences at the University of Iceland in Reykjavík. A 21 300 m2 project, involving a full refurbishment of an existing building, Læknagarður and extending it with a new 8 300 m2 building, it will transform the Faculty´s teaching and research facilities by bringing together activity now in 8 different locations, into one place. The building will stand on the site of the National Hospital of Iceland´s new diagnostic and treatment centre, forming a part of an extended health, science and university quarter in the centre of Reykjavík.

On April 5th 2022 JCA director Hrafnhildur Ólafsdóttir (from far left) signed the contract with our colleagues Ivon Cilia (TBL), Egill Viðarsson (Verkís) as well as Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir (Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation), Jón Atli Benediktsson (Dean of The University of Iceland), Runólfur Pálsson (CEO of the National Hospital of Iceland) and Inga Þórsdóttir (Dean of The School of Health Sciences),
